eLearning Guild Online Forum on Flex

english mobile

The eLearning Guild does online forums from time to time that are like conferences that you attend from the comfort of your home or office. I am very excited that my first conference presentation on Flex will be at their online forum Selecting, Combining, and Using Authoring Tools. I will be presenting on strategies for migrating from Authorware to Flex.

Hope to see you there!

Hi Amy!
I'm part of a small group of developers working for the goverment. We're developing content using Authorware 7, since it was provided to us by goverment. We really like it (even though we've been using it for about year) and is too bad that is EOL. We've started to look for other packages to replace it, and looks like Adobe is recommending captivate (but we think it's like a fancy powerpoint program, I might be wrong). I'm not going to be able to attend your online seminar about the AW migration to FLEX, but I'm really interested. Do you think Flex (never used it) is a better move from AW than captivate?

Amy that is so cool! Unfortunately I can't attend (actually can't afford to attend). I'm sure you will do a great job. I did a presentation for them a year ago or so.

Hi, Hector;

Flex is a good solution for eLearning applications that are heavily data-driven, especially if you're already using Authorware to enter and manage that data. Captivate is a better solution if your content is mostly internal and you craft each page by hand.
